Release 3.4 of TrackTimesheet for Microsoft Project Server 2010 – now available!

TrackTimesheet allows a detailed capture of capabilities in projects as an efficient add-on for Microsoft Project Server.

TrackTimesheet is designed for the requirements of a clear and quick handling as well as for detailed data capture to create significant reports. With the new release 3.4 we optimized our well-proven add-on to improve the handling one more time.

The functionality of TrackTimesheet gives your organization the capability of a detailed documentation of time and effort in projects, day-to-day business as well as for complete work time. This gives you the facility to analyse your effort and draw conclusions to optimize your business processes.

Based on TrackTimesheet Server TrackTimesheet communicates via an own web service with Microsoft Project Server. As a result of this architecture numerous additional data can be entered and analysed to be the basis for your invoice, detailed performance record or daily business effort.

Usability

With self-explanatory, clear forms and ribbons* that are allready known fraom Microsoft Office TrackTimesheet is easy to learn and use. it can be intuitively controlled via keyboard as well.
The performed work will be confirmed per day and for the selected task. Serveral time reports per day are possible as well as to enter a different amount of billable work. For your information TrackTimesheet displays - depending on the task type - the remaining work or the estimated end of a task.
Additional you can decide how accounting to manually scheduled tasks* and automatically scheduled tasks should be used.

New since version 3.3: TrackTimesheet is "Go ready". TrackTimesheet Go is a self-constrained module for time recording by stopwatch for Microssoft Project Server 2010. Please contact us for further information.

 

Data Input

TrackTimesheet enables you to enter a variety of information:

  • Category: range of activities e.g. consulting, programming, travel time (customizable)
  • Work: actual work time on selected task and day (multiple entry per task and day possible)
  • Billable work: portion of billable work (basis for optional initial account assignment and invoice)
  • Comment: Field for explanatory notes
  • Remaining work: remaining work time – or alternatively
  • Estimated end: estimated end of the selected assignment optional the calculated (planned) work time can be displayed in the table: work time
  • Comment for changes in project plan

To enter data TrackTimesheet offers two comfortable ways:

Capture Form

The capture form provides all information designed in a clear way. All entries will be updated in the calendar after saving immediately:

Entry in the grid*: option for quick entries

Especially for employees who enter their hours at the end of the week or workday by stack the grid entry will be a big relief. The grid is usable easily by mouse or keyboard in the same way as an excel sheet. Drop down menus allow a selection of defined values. So the data depth is the same as in the capture form.

Both ways of data entry can be used parallel.

For Safety: Confirmation Lock

The confirmation or entry lock could be used if required. This functionality offers variety parameter to prevent entries on blocked projects, tasks or periods of time. E. g. you can determine how long entries will be accepted for ultimo - important if efforts have to be submitted via TrackTimesheet to third party systems.
At installation all required parameter will be detailed personalized for you.
Different locks can be defined for individual ressources. So you have a maximum flexibility in organizing confirmation locks.

Reports and Views for Analysis

The following reports and views are available for operational and organizational division:

  • Time sheet for resources as efficiency statement
  • Overview with filter functionality of confirmations to be assigned by status manager
  • Graphical data output of overbookings, early entries and late entries
  • General survey of confirmations of logged in resource
  • General survey of all projects, resources and tasks to analyse in Microsoft Excel as prepared pivot-report.

Optional: Subsidiary Feedback / Subsidiary Approval

Usually entries will be made by the employee who is assigned to the task. In case the employee has no access to the system or is otherwise bound it will be useful that a colleague or the project manager can make the entries or approvals.

As well project specific substitutes can bei defined for the project manager.
